I have been in the restaurant business since I was 15 years old. I started as a busboy and worked my way up through the ranks. By the age of 21, I was the bar manager at The Crease in Towson. By the age of 31, I was a partner in Souris Saloon. In the year 2000, I decided I wanted to move on to bigger and better things. After getting back to my roots of waiting on tables and bartending, I became the General Manager of BlueStone Restaurant followed by being the Director of Food Services for the College of Notre Dame.

As I am ready to enter my 37th year in the hospitality business, one thing has always remained the same. Each and everyday I come to work, I intend to make every guest happy. I want their experience to be a great one. There is only one way to achieve this and that is passion. I am a very lucky man to be able to go to work and love what I do. I am very fortunate for my wife Michelle, and our three beautiful girls Abigail, Olivia and Grace. Without their support, I would not be able to do what I love.

Whether you choose to have an event here at the restaurant or take us to a beautiful venue, home or farm we will strive to provide everything you need to have the most enjoyable and memorable event.  In addition, not only do we support the Farm to Table by sourcing from all the local farms but we also have our own raised beds right on the property.

Each day I get to work with a team of extraordinary people, provide an amazing product and have the wonderful pleasure of helping guests "celebrate life" !  What a honor to have done this for 16 years and would have been impossible without all the support from my husband and children.

Gardener: Julia Melka

I have been working for and learning from a Master Gardener friend since I was 13 years old.  I have always enjoyed working outside and began taking an interest in plants at a young age.  I love arranging flowers and discovering which magnificent colors work well together.  It’s very easy to become creative and let the imagination flow when planning beautiful flower combinations.  In addition to the visual appeal of the flowers, the vegetables provide their own reward.  I remember when my first crop of lettuce went into the Manor Tavern kitchen; I felt like a parent must feel sending the kids off to school for the first time!  I plant them, tend to them, and turn them over for the great purpose of serving our guests.  The process of growing flowers and vegetables is extremely rewarding, and I look forward to continuing my education by becoming a certified Master Gardener in the fall of 2013.  I have great plans for my gardens at Manor Tavern and am excited for the seasons to come!
